What a joy when I discovered that I could purchase a complete new system for over $2,500 less than purchasing and installing it through a local company. Paid a licensed installer for 8 hours of his time plus supplies (about $500 total) to install it and now have a brand new system for just over $1600!! Brian at AC Outlet answered ALL my questions over the phone, shipped it free, and delivery was fast. The Amana/Goodman product is working great and my installer was completely familiar and happy with the brand choice. DIY folks should be aware that you definitely need a professional to do the install. You will also need the professional to remove the old unit if it's full of refrigerant. I found a local professional on CL that would let me work along with him to help speed things up and keep the hours billed to a minimum.
